Two thing that MIGHT impact the sound of the camera's mechanical bits would be: the type of lens that's mounted (heavier, weather-sealed lenses may dampen that a bit, and add vibration-eating mass to the camera). Those extra couple of bits might help you, though, in the case of a marginal exposure that needs some tweeking. That will also slow down your post-shooting workflow a bit, and burn up more disk space. and also makes for larger files (and thus fewer per card). Which is a very special case.ฤก4-bit RAW files carry more data, but are slower to write to the memory card. The only things that change the sound are shutter speed (which changes the nature of the sound, but not the volume of it), and the Mirror Lock-Up shooting mode. The shutter and mirror in the camera are mechanical. ![]()
